Marin Equity Coalition 2017 - YOUTH

It was decided that we would have two separate and different types of groups/meetings to support the Marin Equity Summit 2017:

#1 – the first group is called the Logistics Group  - the purpose of this group is to work on planning the Equity Summit for 2017, this is the group that is doing the actual work assignments to make the Summit happen.
This group’s next meeting is scheduled for:
Marin Equity Coalition Summit Logistics Group >

YMCA, 1500 Los Gamos Dr. San Rafael -

Wednesday, July 5, 10 AM.
The agenda at this time includes:
  • Summit Theme – Youth Development
  • Speakers
  • Entertainment
  • Fundraising
  • Communications

#2 – the second group is called the Content Group the purpose of this group is to work on equity issues in the community and to address the issues that arise.  We see the leaders of the “Interest Groups” (Education, Food, Employment, Housing, etc.) coming out of this group of individuals and the expectation is that “leaders” will attend these meetings, because this is where the content of the Equity Summit 2017 will come from.  This is the group of people who will develop the content from the headlines in the news and the discussions that come from this group.

The first meeting of this group took place last month (March) and was very exciting!  There were new people that we’ve never met who had great ideas and individuals from several new organizing committees who really want to get involved and share resources!  It is a great time to get involved in Equity in Marin!!  PLEASE JOIN US!

The next meeting of this group is scheduled for:
Marin Equity Coalition Content Group >
Center for Domestic Peace, 734 A St. San Rafael - Wednesday 7/12, 10:00 AM

I hope the explanations above help to distinguish the two groups in your mind so that you can make a decision about which you’d like to participate in.
